We point out stories while balancing creativity with fundamental expertise. We help brands to create a visual language while communicating values and messages.

Art Direction

We generate visual concepts in response to clients needs and briefings. Our mission is to give your brand a unique DNA – from brand strategies to corporate design, that transport your ideas and values while standing out. We transform your idea into brands that connect to people.

Lettering /
Illustration

Whenever you are in need of visual support for your product, editorial or website we develop unique custom illustrations and letterings. We have a wide ranging expertise in styles and techniques and will find the perfect look in close cooperation with clients briefings.

Walls /
Murals

In collaboration with interior designers or with our own concepts – we turn matters into murals and tell stories with paintings. Our murals always transport content and meaning. We paint restaurants, hotels, industrial zones, private commissions as well as offices.

Freelance /
Consulting

To ensure a high standard of visual execution across all media and campaigns we help advertising agencies in the creative process. We design, plan, consult and share our expertise for pitches, campaign ideas or other creative projects.

Lecturing /
Workshops

We love to work with people and not for them. Therefore we host workshops where we share our expertise and create projects in close collaboration with our participants. In addition we hold talks at various educational institutes and design festivals and teach specific courses at design universities.

HFA–Studio was founded in 2016 by Fabian Dankl and the brothers Leo-Constantin and Charlie Scheichenost. After studying communication design and advertising at the University of Applied Arts Vienna, working in design agencies in Berlin and New York and artist residencies in Indonesia, Maldives and Mexico we set up our design company and are now based in the 7th district in Vienna.

We believe in working with people and not for them. We transform ideas into brands and turn matters into murals. We care about colours, letters, content and design. When we are not busy working with clients we organize events, brew our own beer and host exhibitions in our gallery space.

Mag. Charlie Scheichenost

Charlie is not only a helicopter dog dad, but also art director, graphic designer and lecturer. He is probably out there teaching at the University of Applied Arts Vienna, trying to play golf or listening to birds in the wild.

Mag. Fabian Dankl

Fabian, involuntarily known as Fati, illustrates, depicts and designs: preferably black and white and on a bigger scale. His images find application in commercial as well as free, artistic projects. He likes bats, fresh juices and rap music.

Mag. Leo-Constantin Scheichenost

Leo-Constantin is an idea driven brand lover, part time breakdancer and beer connaisseur. He is also the co-founder of Brauton Beer, a craft beer that is exposed to music while brewing. After various gigs at design and advertising agencies in Berlin, New York and Vienna he is now focusing on his Marketing Master Studies, our design studio and beer research.

Uma Vogl-Fernheim

Uma is not only managing our Space - she is the one making things look good. She sets up exhibitions, creates beautiful graphics and is doing most of our in-house photography. Because of our mask policy you are not able to see it, but she will greet you with a smile once you step into our Space.
